Bilaspur. In a big step.for.security, the Railways have.equipped the TTR to.examine.the genunity of the Aadhaar card shown by passengers on-the-spot by TTE (Traveling Ticket Examiner) posted in trains. Now it will not be easy to escape by showing fake Aadhaar card while traveling in train.

Railways has now given TTE access to 'M-Aadhaar' mobile app, which has been prepared by UIDAI. With this app, TT will be able to scan the QR code of the Aadhaar card of the passenger even without internet. As soon as it is scanned, the name, photo, date of birth and address of the passenger will appear on the mobile screen.

With this, the TT will immediately identify whether the Aadhaar is real or fake. If a passenger is suspected or the identity seems fake, he will be immediately handed over to GRP and action will be taken against him.

Why was this step taken?
It is often seen that some people travel in trains with Aadhaar or fake ID of others. Due to this, real passengers face problems and there is a mess in the ticket booking process. Now with this new technology, these frauds can be stopped.
Change in Tatkal ticket rules too
Railways has also made a big change in the rules of Tatkal ticket booking:
From July 1, 2025, to book Tatkal tickets, it will be necessary that your account is linked to Aadhaar and identity is confirmed through OTP verification.
From July 15, 2025, whenever a Tatkal ticket is booked, it will be mandatory to enter the OTP sent to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar.
Objective of the Ministry of Railways:
The purpose of these changes is –
To bring transparency in ticket booking
To stop fake agents and black marketing of tickets
And to provide tickets on time to real, needy passengers
This step of the Railways is being considered important in terms of both safety and convenience of the passengers.
