"CASHLESS TREATMENT FOR ACCIDENT VICTIMS MANDATED FOR FIRST 7 DAYS IN RAIPUR"

In a significant move towards enhancing road safety and ensuring immediate medical assistance, the Raipur administration has made it mandatory for all hospitals to provide cashless treatment to victims of road accidents for the first seven days. This directive has been communicated to all district collectors and police superintendents through an official letter.

Under this initiative, victims will receive cashless treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh during the critical first week following an accident. The order is based on the notification of the Cashless Treatment Scheme 2025, published in the Government of India Gazette on May 5. This scheme aims to alleviate the financial burden on accident victims and ensure they receive timely medical care without the hassle of upfront payments.

The cashless treatment will be applicable in 134 hospitals recognized by the state health department, as well as in all 61 hospitals located outside the state. This means that if an accident occurs while traveling in another state, victims will still be eligible for cashless treatment, ensuring that help is always within reach, regardless of location.

The inter-departmental lead agency for road safety, established at the PHQ, has promptly issued this letter to all collectors and police superintendents, emphasizing the importance of this initiative. This proactive approach not only aims to improve the response to road accidents but also reflects a commitment to safeguarding lives and promoting road safety across the region.

With this new policy in place, the Raipur administration is taking a bold step towards a safer future, ensuring that no one has to face the financial strain of medical expenses in their time of need.
