Gharghoda. Panic ensued in the forests of the Gharghoda Forest Range when news emerged regarding the discovery of the bodies of two elephant calves along a riverbank. According to reports, the carcasses of the two calves were spotted near the Suhai forest adjacent to the Kurkut River within the Pakadarha area of the forest range. It is reported that the bodies were sighted, the calves are estimated to be approximately two years old.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the Forest Department immediately sprang into action. Ashutosh Mandava, SDO (Forests) for Gharghoda, and Vikrant Singh, Forest Range Officer for Tamnar, rushed to the scene with their team and initiated an investigation into the entire matter. According to sources, the deaths of the elephants are believed to have occurred under suspicious circumstances. Currently, the Forest Department has detained three suspects in connection with the case and has commenced their interrogation.
Meanwhile, post-mortem examinations of both elephant calves are being conducted in the presence of a veterinary officer to ascertain the exact cause of death. The Forest Department has stated that it will only become clear following the post-mortem report and the ongoing investigation,whether the elephants died due to natural causes or if there was a conspiracy behind their deaths.
At present, a serious investigation into the entire matter is underway and the Forest Department has expressed confidence that it will soon be able to unravel the details of the case.
