Hawaiian alphabet which is known as the ("ka pīʻāpā Hawaiʻi,") consists of 13 letters: 5 vowels and 8 consonants only same as english alphabets but unlike english alphabets which have 26 alphabets they have only 13 alphabets. Hawaiian alphabet is a unique and essential part of the Hawaiian language and culture, reflecting their islands' rich heritage also to preserve its use for future generations.

Hawaiian language is known for its melodic sound. Hawaiian language is phonetic, meaning that words are pronounced as they are spelled.

Breakdown Of The Alphabet:

Vowels:

  1. A - pronounced as "ah" 
  2. E - pronounced as "eh" 
  3. I - pronounced as "ee" 
  4. O - pronounced as "oh"
  5. U - pronounced as "oo"

Consonants:

  1. H - pronounced as in English
  2. K - pronounced as in English
  3. L - pronounced as in English
  4. M - pronounced as in English
  5. N - pronounced as in English
  6. P - pronounced as in English
  7. W - pronounced as in English, but can also sound like a "v" in some contexts
