78 School Students given Anti Rabies Injection, after consuming dog leftover

Raipur: After eating dog's leftovers, 78 school children were given anti-rabies injections, This sensitive incident occurred in, Lachhanpur Middle School, of Palari Block, Balodabazar district.

 School children and villagers informed that, the vegetable curry,  made for mid-day meal was kept in  open which was eaten by a stray dog, eyewitness children objected to this and informed the teacher, and immediately serving vegetables to children was prohibited. But even after the teacher's instructions, vegetables were served to the children.

When the children complained about this to their parents, the parents reached the school and lodged a complaint.
 As the matter came to in notice of senior officials of the district headquarters, immediately, SDM, Block Education Officer and members of the Health Department reached the school and inquired about the matter.

 After this, all the 78 children of class 7th and 8th, who consumed the vegetable were immediately given anti-rabies vaccine at the Primary Health Center. 

In enquiry it was,  revealed that the functioning of the self-help groups which have the responsibility of providing mid-day meals in the school has been questioned many times before.
