Doctor Amma Documentary on Dr. C. Rajeswari Screened in Raipur

Raipur. A special screening of the documentary film 'DOCTOR AMMA', based on the inspiring life and selfless medical service of Dr. C. Rajeswari, was held at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital, Nava Raipur.

 

Dr. C. Rajeswari was the mother of Sri C. Sreenivas and the inspiration behind Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Service Movement. She held qualifications including MD, DGO, FICS, MRCOG, and Diploma in Nutrition, and served over 25 years as an obstetrician-gynecologist and professor in Andhra Pradesh. She also served in the USA, UK, and Ghana.

 

Responding to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's call, she joined the Whitefield Hospital, Bengaluru in 1972 and made free medical service her life mission. In his discourse on June 10, 2001, Sathya Sai Baba noted that she devoted her entire earnings to the hospital. She passed away on September 8, 1990, while serving at the hospital.

 

The tradition of totally free selfless service continues through Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals. The Mother and Child Hospital in Naya Raipur stands as a symbol of this spirit. The 20-minute documentary is written and directed by Nizamuddin Shah.

 

The event was attended by Smt. Veena Singh (wife of Speaker Dr. Raman Singh), Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Finance Minister OP Choudhary, former MP Abhishek Singh, BSF Second-in-Command Ravindra Jha, BK Savita Didi, and Chairman C. Sreenivas. Ministers described Sanjeevani Hospital as pride of Chhattisgarh and India.
